YOU
Michèle shares her life with Paul, her husband and work colleague. She has a lover, Thomas, a musician with whom she has been having a passionate affair for some time. Attracted by Thomas’s non-conformity and lust for life, Michèle abandons her husband, her son and her profession to live this frenzy through to its conclusion. A quest for freedom and change which sends Michèle on a turbulent drift, but remains, nevertheless, intimate and personal… Nomination at the 28th Annual Genie Awards: Performance by an actress in a leading role for Anne-Marie Cadieux. "François
Delisle is undeniably top-notch." "A
real punch to the solar plexus." "Definitely
one of the great films of FFM 2007 – the actors are amazing and
the director beyond brilliant. An absolute must-see." "That
punk-rock-like intensity doesn't let up for the next 90 minutes in this
thrilling, deeply disturbing work." "This
powerful film turns out to be a gorgeous odyssey, verging on the unreal
and fantastic, into the heart of modern despair." "A
gripping and powerful film. ... In "You", Anne-Marie Cadieux
delivers what may be the best performance of her career." "Delisle
has orchestrated a visceral, modern fairy tale that echoes a gruelling
existential quest. The directing, mirroring the subject’s urgency,
avoids gimmickry of any kind to focus constantly on the essential. In
its very harshness, "You" is a beautiful film. You can take
it. Or leave it..." "This
is a standout role for Anne-Marie Cadieux, the actress Delisle directed
so well in "Happiness is a Sad Song"." With: Anne-Marie
Cadieux, Laurent Lucas, Marc Béland DVD, 35 mm, color, 87 min. Year: 2007 International sales: Magyx Content Distribution in Canada: K Films Amérique Buy the movie online: Renaud-Bray.com |
